Engage Learners with Poodll Activities is a 4-week online course specifically designed to empower educators with the skills to effectively use the full range of Poodll activities within Moodle to create engaging, interactive learning experiences. Participants will explore how to leverage Poodll's extensive tools to enhance language learning, assessments, and multimedia content delivery.

Participants will gain hands-on experience creating AI-generated activities for ELT. They will utilize AI-generated language apps to develop text-to-image, video-based, vocabulary, grammar, listening, writing, and speaking tasks. 

AI Generated Moodle Courses is the 13th annual Moodle with hands-on course. This free 4-week online course is open to anyone passionate about online education, regardless of prior experience or formal qualifications. Participants will learn how to teach online using the activities, resources, and blocks available as they develop their very own Moodle course with the assistance of AI.

Participants who complete the tasks, will be awarded a certificate with 20 hours included. 

AI for Tools for Student Collaboration (AI4T4SC) is a free 4-week online course with a final certificate. AI4T4SC introduces participants to using AI and digital platforms to enhance collaborative learning. The first week covers foundational concepts in collaborative learning, encouraging team formation and initial collaboration. In week two, participants focus on developing debate skills, utilizing tools like Google Bard to explore and plan debates. The course then moves to creating presentations and videos, addressing copyright issues, and collaborating on video annotations. Week four emphasizes research and quiz creation, with tools like Google Forms and Quizlet. The final week focuses on showcasing work and reflecting on learning through digital portfolios.

Learn how to develop online courses with engaging activities for blended and fully online programs for Canvas, Moodle, Google classroom or any other learning management system using AI. 

"Engage Learners with EdTech and AI" Zoom meetings are a dynamic series designed to empower educators and instructional designers with practical strategies and tools to enhance student engagement using the latest in educational technology and artificial intelligence. Each session focuses on a specific aspect of integrating EdTech and AI into the learning environment, from interactive learning platforms and AI-driven personalized learning tools to data analytics that help tailor educational experiences to individual student needs.

TESOL Online with AI: Develop an Online Course is an annual 5-week free online course designed to empower educators with the skills needed to thrive in the world of online English language teaching. Participants will use TESOL Online with AI GPT from ChatGPT to guide them throughout the course.

"AI Apps for Spoken English" is a 4-week online course designed to help learners harness the power of artificial intelligence to improve their spoken English skills. Throughout the course, participants will explore a variety of AI-driven apps and tools that offer personalized language practice, real-time feedback, and interactive learning experiences. Each week, learners will engage with new apps and exercises focused on key areas such as pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary, and conversational skills. By the end of the course, participants will have gained confidence in their spoken English and will be equipped with practical AI tools to continue their language learning journey independently.

"Leveraging AI to Assist in Generating Action Research" is a 4 week course designed to empower educators and researchers with the tools and knowledge to integrate artificial intelligence into the action research process. Throughout the course, participants will explore how AI can streamline data collection, analysis, and interpretation, enabling more efficient and insightful research that directly informs and enhances educational practices. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to use AI-driven tools to conduct robust action research, leading to data-driven improvements in teaching and learning outcomes.

WebQuests are problem-based learning activities that engage learners in the learning process. WebQuests are valuable instructional tools for learners of all ages in both the school and work settings. The WebQuest motivates, and empowers teachers and learners as they engage in experiential (hands on) learning activities. These activities promote collaborative social skills, higher order critical thinking skills, inquiry problem-based learning, and technological skills.  

In this course, teachers will learn how to generate WebQuests using the WebQuest Wizard and other Artificial Intelligence tools. 

This is the third annual hands-on 5-week online course. Participants will learn to engage students in creating videos for storytelling, tutorials, and slide presentations on their smartphones and computers. Connecting Online (CO) is a free 3-day online conference that has been taking place in the month of February since 2009.  CO24 is the 15th annual CO event. This year, the event will take place from February 23 - 25, 2024. 

This is a hands-on course.  Teachers will be given their own Moodle H5P sandbox course upon successfully completing the tasks in Week 1. Teachers will learn how to create interactive content using H5P tools that engage and align with their teaching goals. They will learn how to credit their H5Ps with Creative Commons licenses.

This is the 3rd annual 5-week online course. Mindfulness helps promote effective communication with students, and improves classroom climate. The first Moodle MOOC started in 2013. Moodle MOOCs take place once a year in May. The goal of the Moodle MOOCs is to introduce the participants to a learning management system called Moodle so they can use it to teach in face-to-face, blended, and in fully online programs. The Moodle MOOCs take place on the latest stable Moodle version. There are 3 courses available for beginners and advanced Moodlers. This course is for beginners. Participants will learn about and practice using the activities, resources, and blocks available in their very own Moodle course using a ChatGPT AI called Develop Online Courses. 

This course is for advanced teachers of Moodle. Develop a Moodle Course (DaMC) is a 4-week online course. The content of DaMC focuses on tips and tricks for Moodle teachers. The course is for participants, who have taught at least one Moodle course and know how to add activities, resources, and blocks. They will learn how to edit the course, add enrollment methods, enroll students, learn about course completion and competencies, how to create certificates and tips and tricks on how to engage learners in collaborative peer-based learning activities.

Manager of a Moodle Site (MOMS) course is a free 4-week training course for advanced Moodlers who have developed their own Moodle courses and wish to practice the features available to managers of a Moodle site. The course includes user, course, and other manager activities.  Advanced learners, who receive a certificate of completion from previous Moodle for Teachers courses on how to teach with Moodle can go on to learn how to manage a Moodle site. The course takes place in May of each year.

Admin of a Moodle Site is a 4-week online course with a certificate for those who complete the tasks that with the duration of 30 hours. There is no need for a Moodle site. Participants will be able to practice on a core Moodle site provided for them. They will learn everything there is to know about managing a Moodle site as the admin and learn to upgrade and install Moodle plugins. The tuition is $50.

The annual Second Life MOOC (renamed the Virtual World MOOC in 2018) started in 2014. The 10th VWMOOC24 will take place from August 1-30, 2024.
