The creation of the six sections of the Moodle course Cambridge B2 First: Calm & Confident Exam Preparation was supported by the use of AI tools, particularly Gemini AI, which helped generate and organize content ideas, activities, and learning structures. Throughout the reflection process, I realized that AI can be an effective support tool for educational design, especially when planning clear learning objectives and maintaining coherence across different sections of a course.
The course was designed with the purpose of helping learners create effective study routines, understand how the B2 First exam works, improve concentration and motivation, and reduce exam anxiety. Using AI assistance allowed me to save time during the planning stage while also encouraging creativity in the design of tasks and resources. However, it was still necessary to critically review, adapt, and personalize the generated materials to ensure they matched the learners’ needs and the pedagogical goals of the course.
In addition, an image was generated with the assistance of AI Course Assistant Enter Pro to provide a more engaging and visually appealing learning environment. This experience highlighted the potential of AI not only for content creation but also for enhancing the presentation and accessibility of online courses. Overall, the process demonstrated that AI can complement the teacher’s role by supporting organization, inspiration, and resource development, while human guidance remains essential for meaningful and effective learning design.
