Hi Cecilia and welcome to the course. Thank you for sharing your thoughtful introduction and for being honest about your experience creating a new avatar and voice. Many educators feel the same way at first because AI avatars can still seem a little unfamiliar when we compare them to our natural voice and expressions. What matters most is that you are exploring, experimenting, and reflecting critically on the process as an instructional designer.
I really liked your observation about the practical advantages of AI video tools. Consistent sound and image quality, fewer concerns about lighting, background noise, and interruptions, and the ability to create videos more efficiently can make a huge difference for educators and course designers who produce a lot of content. These tools can definitely reduce stress and save time while still allowing us to focus on teaching and communication.
It is also interesting that you already had experience creating an avatar in a previous course and decided to improve it for this one. That willingness to revise and refine your work shows a strong growth mindset and professional curiosity.
What changes did you make in this new version of your avatar compared to the previous one? Do you think learners respond differently to AI avatars compared to traditional instructor videos?
