What is your current experience with Moodle?
My first experience with Moodle dates back to 2007, when I used it as a student. At that time, my knowledge of the platform was quite basic, and I sometimes felt a bit lost while navigating the different tools and activities. However, despite those initial challenges, I was able to successfully complete the course, which gave me a sense of achievement and sparked my interest in online learning environments. Since then, I have participated in several other Moodle-based courses, always as a learner. These experiences have helped me become more familiar with the platform over time, especially through two courses that I have completed recently. Although I have not yet used Moodle as a teacher, I now feel more confident in understanding how it works from a student’s perspective.

What do you hope to achieve by learning how to develop Moodle activities and resources with AI?
By learning how to develop Moodle activities and resources with the support of AI, I hope to enhance my teaching practice, particularly in the field of English as a foreign language. I would like to be able to design more engaging, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences for my students. Additionally, I am interested in integrating a wide range of AI-generated resources that can support different learning styles and needs. My goal is to create dynamic lessons that combine traditional teaching methods with innovative digital tools, ultimately helping my students improve their language skills in a more effective and motivating way.

How do you see AI tools supporting your work as a Moodle teacher?
I see AI tools as a valuable resource that can significantly support and enrich my work as a Moodle teacher. They can help me improve the quality of the content I create, design more structured and coherent syllabi, and develop a variety of activities both inside and outside the classroom. Furthermore, AI can assist in personalizing learning experiences, allowing students to progress at their own pace and become more autonomous in their learning process. I believe that, when used appropriately, AI can make teaching more efficient and creative, while also encouraging students to take a more active role in their education.

Experience, Goals & Expectations

Hi Jurix,

Thank you for sharing your journey with Moodle. Starting as a learner back in 2007 and continuing to build your experience over time gives you something very valuable. You understand what it feels like to be inside a course, including the confusion at the beginning and the sense of achievement at the end. That insight will guide you in creating courses that are clearer, more supportive, and more engaging for your own students.

Your goal of designing meaningful and interactive learning experiences for English language learners is right on target. What matters now is translating what you have experienced as a student into intentional design as a teacher. Keep thinking about what helped you stay engaged and what made things difficult. That reflection will shape the way you organize your activities and resources.

Your thinking about AI is also very well grounded. Using it to support different learning styles and to create more dynamic lessons is a strong direction. At the same time, the real impact will come from how you guide your students in using those resources. AI can generate content quickly, but you are the one who gives it purpose, structure, and pedagogical value.

You are closer than you think to making the shift from learner to course designer. The next step is to start building, even in small ways, and test what works. Confidence grows through doing, not waiting.
