Hello, everyone,

How do you feel about using AI for instruction and learning?
I feel very positive about using AI for instruction and learning. AI can support both teachers and students by making learning more interactive, personalized, and efficient. It helps students understand concepts better through tailored explanations and gives teachers tools to enhance engagement. However, it should be used responsibly, with guidance, to ensure students are still thinking critically and not over-relying on it.

How do you feel about using AI for course development?
I believe AI is very useful for course development. It helps in creating materials, designing activities, and organizing content in a faster and more structured way. AI can save time and improve the quality of resources, allowing teachers to focus more on student support and interaction. It also supports creativity by offering new ideas and approaches.

How do your colleagues feel about using AI for instruction and learning?
From my experience, colleagues have mixed feelings about using AI. Some are very interested and excited about its potential, especially in saving time and improving teaching. Others are more cautious, mainly due to concerns about academic integrity and students depending too much on AI. Overall, there is growing interest, but also a need for proper training and clear guidelines.

Explain your answer.
This article aligns with my perspective because it highlights how AI can support both teachers and students rather than replace them. It emphasizes personalization, efficiency, and improved learning outcomes, which I strongly believe in. It also addresses the importance of using AI responsibly, which matches my view that AI should enhance learning while maintaining critical thinking and academic integrity.

Hi Rasha,

You’ve taken a thoughtful and balanced approach, and that’s exactly what matters when working with AI. What stands out is your clear understanding that AI is not just about efficiency, but about improving the quality of learning. The way you connect personalization with student understanding shows that you are already thinking like a course designer, not just a user of tools.

I especially appreciate your point about responsibility. That is where many people either overestimate AI or avoid it altogether. You are right to focus on guidance and critical thinking. AI works best when the teacher stays in control of the learning process and uses it to deepen thinking, not replace it.

Your perspective on course development is also very practical. Saving time is valuable, but what really matters is what you do with that saved time. You are aiming to reinvest it into student support and interaction, and that is exactly the shift that makes AI meaningful in education.

Your observation about colleagues is very realistic. That mix of excitement and concern is happening everywhere. Instead of waiting for everyone to agree, people like you who are already experimenting responsibly will naturally become the ones others turn to for guidance. That is an opportunity, not just a situation.

The article you chose fits well because it reinforces the idea of AI as support rather than replacement. You are aligning your thinking with research, which strengthens your approach and gives you a solid foundation for your decisions in practice.

Keep going in this direction. The next step is to start applying this thinking inside your Moodle course design. Use AI to generate, test, and refine activities, but always bring it back to one question: how does this improve student learning and engagement. That is where your real impact will be.

Hello Rasha,

Concise and well-balanced perspective. I agree that AI adds value in personalization and efficiency, provided its use is guided. The emphasis on critical thinking and responsible integration, consistent with Artificial Intelligence in Education: Promises and Implications for Teaching and Learning is particularly relevant.
