Backup Course on Online Courses for Free (Week 4)

In this forum, you will back up your course in Moodle and share a walkthrough video of the process.

 

  1. Go to your course.
  2. Click More.
  3. Click Course reuse.
  4. Select Backup.
  5. Keep the default settings or adjust if needed.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Review the items to include in the backup.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Click Perform backup.
  10. Wait for the backup to complete.
  11. Click Continue.
  12. Download the backup file (.mbz) and save it to your computer.
  13. After completing the backup, create a walkthrough video showing the steps, the backup settings, and the final file.
  14. Upload the video to YouTube as unlisted or upload it to Google Drive with unrestricted viewing access.
  15. Post the video link in this forum.

This activity helps you secure your course so it can be reused, restored, or shared when needed.

  • Use Filmora 15 or ScreenPal or Colossyan to create a walkthrough video showing what information is available to you as a student in this course and as a teacher on Online Courses for Free. 
  • Upload the MP4 file to Google drive share it as public and paste the link or upload to Youtube make it unlisted or public and paste the link. If you're using Colossyan upload the MP4 to Google Drive or paste the embed code in the Source code under Tools in the editor of the forum message area. 
  • Reflect on the process.
  • Reply to at least one other participant to complete the task.
