In this activity, you will continue developing your WebQuest using the WebQuest Wizard provided in the Moodle course. During Week 3, you will focus on the Evaluation, Conclusion, and Credits (References) sections of your WebQuest.
The goal is to establish clear expectations for assessing student learning, create a meaningful conclusion that encourages reflection, and acknowledge the sources and resources used in developing your WebQuest.
Your Task
1. Open the WebQuest Wizard: Return to the WebQuest you developed during Weeks 1 and 2 and continue working on the remaining sections.
2. Develop the Evaluation: Explain how students' work and learning will be assessed. Identify clear evaluation criteria that align with the learning objectives and tasks of your WebQuest. Consider using a rubric to help students understand what is expected of them and how their work will be evaluated. Include criteria such as understanding, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, or the quality of the final product, where appropriate.
3. Create the Conclusion: Write an engaging conclusion that brings the WebQuest learning experience together. Summarize what students should have learned and encourage them to reflect on their discoveries, challenges, and achievements. Consider including thought-provoking questions that help students connect their learning to real-life situations or future learning opportunities.
4. Complete the Credits (References): Acknowledge the sources, materials, and resources you used to develop your WebQuest. Include appropriate references and links to websites, articles, images, videos, and other materials. Give credit to original authors and creators, and model responsible and ethical use of digital resources.
5. Record a Walkthrough Video: Create a short screen recording in which you:
- Show the Evaluation, Conclusion, and Credits (References) sections you developed using the WebQuest Wizard.
- Explain how you plan to evaluate student learning and why you selected your evaluation criteria.
- Walk viewers through your conclusion and explain how it encourages student reflection and deeper learning.
- Demonstrate how you acknowledged and referenced the resources used in your WebQuest.
- Reflect on your experience using the WebQuest Wizard, including any challenges, discoveries, or ideas for improvement.
- Create your video tour using ScreenPal or Colossyan.
- Upload the video file to Google drive (unrestrict view) or YouTube (unlisted or public view) and share the link.
- Download the MP4 to your computer.
- Upload the MP4 file to YouTube, make it public or unlisted or to Google drive and go into share, and make it public
- Paste the link of your YouTube video or Google drive. The Google drive link of the video will be responsive because I added a script in the additional html.
6. Share Your Video: Post your walkthrough video in the Week 3 discussion forum. Include a brief reflection on your experience developing these sections of your WebQuest.
Peer Learning
Watch at least one other participant's walkthrough video and provide constructive feedback. You may comment on the clarity of the evaluation criteria, the effectiveness of the conclusion, or the completeness of the references. Share suggestions, ask questions, and learn from one another.
Remember: You are developing a WebQuest as a teacher for your own students. The Evaluation explains how student learning will be assessed, the Conclusion helps students reflect on and extend their learning, and the Credits (References) acknowledge the sources and contributions that supported the creation of your WebQuest.
By the end of Week 3, you should have developed the main instructional sections of your WebQuest. You will have an opportunity to review, refine, and prepare your complete WebQuest for sharing.
Enjoy bringing all the elements of your WebQuest together and creating a meaningful learning experience for your students! 🌟
