Walkthrough Video of the Task, Process, and Resources of your WebQuest 🎥 (Week 2)

Main content blocks

In this activity, you will continue developing your WebQuest using the WebQuest Wizard provided in the Moodle course. During Week 2, you will focus on the Task, Process, and Resources sections of your WebQuest.

The goal is to design a meaningful learning task, provide clear instructions that guide students through the learning experience, and select appropriate resources to support their exploration and learning.

Your Task

1. Open the WebQuest Wizard: Return to the WebQuest you started in Week 1 and continue developing it.

2. Develop the Task: Describe what your students will be expected to accomplish by the end of the WebQuest. Create an engaging, purposeful task that encourages inquiry, critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, or collaboration. Make sure students understand what they are expected to produce or demonstrate.

3. Design the Process: Provide clear, step-by-step instructions that guide students through completing the task. Consider how students will explore the topic, use resources, complete activities, and work individually or collaboratively. Make the instructions appropriate for your intended student audience.

4. Select the Resources: Identify and include relevant websites, videos, articles, digital tools, or other learning materials that students will need to complete the task. Choose resources that are reliable, accessible, age-appropriate, and directly connected to the learning objectives.

5. Record a Walkthrough Video: Create a short screen recording in which you:

  • Show the Task, Process, and Resources sections you developed using the WebQuest Wizard.
  • Explain what students will be expected to accomplish.
  • Walk viewers through the steps students will follow to complete the task.
  • Demonstrate how the selected resources support the learning activities.
  • Reflect on your experience using the WebQuest Wizard, including any challenges, discoveries, or ideas for improvement.
  • Create your video tour using ScreenPal or Colossyan.
  • Upload the video file to Google drive (unrestrict view) or YouTube (unlisted or public view) and share the link.
  • Download the MP4 to your computer.
  • Upload the MP4 file to YouTube, make it public or unlisted or to Google drive and go into share, and make it public
  • Paste the link of your YouTube video or Google drive. The Google drive link of the video will be responsive because I added a script in the additional html.

6. Share Your Video: Post your walkthrough video in the Week 2 discussion forum. Include a brief reflection on your experience developing these three sections of your WebQuest.

Peer Learning

Watch at least one other participant's walkthrough video and provide constructive feedback. You may comment on the clarity of the task, the organization of the process, or the usefulness of the resources. Share ideas, ask questions, and learn from one another.

Remember: You are creating a WebQuest as a teacher for your own students. The Task explains what students will accomplish, the Process explains how they will accomplish it, and the Resources provide the materials they need to succeed.

Enjoy developing an engaging, student-centered learning experience with the WebQuest Wizard! 🌟
